Next Month: Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Before you know it, it will be October… and that means our new charitable initiative will be Breast Cancer Awareness Month! As of June 2016, it’s estimated that 12 percent of American women – or 1 in 8 – will develop invasive breast cancer. During the course of this year, more than 246,000 new cases are expected to be diagnosed, along with more than 60,000 cases of non-invasive breast cancer. There is not currently a cure, but every October the edict becomes clear: There needs to be an end to this terrible disease, and we need to do what we can to stop it.
Breast Cancer Awareness Month is symbolized by a pink ribbon that serves as a signpost for so many opportunities to volunteer, donate and participate in events that support breast cancer awareness organizations. Every year, Associates across the country participate in walks, runs and other events to support this cause. Although we plan to have our own events to help support breast cancer awareness, we’d like to hear from our Associates who may be participating in their own walks, runs or other events. Please contact us at CCF to let us know what your plans are to help during Breast Cancer Awareness Month – and how we can support you. Let’s make this year the year we truly make a difference for those who suffer or have recovered from breast cancer!
