Checking in with the Clingmans
Many Associates have been waiting on news about Staff Sergeant Jesse Clingman’s new Carrington House home, and we’re pleased to report significant progress!
Last month, Carrington House entered escrow on a home in Spring Branch, Texas, which CCF is purchasing specifically for Jesse, his wife and their children. After completing the closing process in early January, Carrington House will begin remodeling the home for Jesse, including adding wider doorways, ramps, zero-threshold showers and home automation features. The home will be completely accessible throughout, allowing Jesse to live comfortably. The goal is to start construction in February.
Carrington House is currently working with an architect to create floorplans for the renovation, which includes the addition of two bedrooms, a new bathroom and the accessibility features outlined above. They’ll also reconfigure the bathrooms and kitchen for ease of use and navigation, and replace the carpet with a hard-surface floor, allowing Jesse more freedom of movement in his wheelchair. Home automation components and a backup generator are also planned.
For now, the Clingmans remain in their three-bedroom house, but are just as excited as we are to help them move into their new home. We’ll be sure to provide additional updates on how the Clingman home is coming along.
