Hero Jerral Hancock Moves into Custom Home

On May 29th, 2007, Jerral Hancock was on patrol in Iraq when his tank rolled over an E.F.P (Explosively Formed Penetrator). He lost his left arm, sustained burns on 30% of his body, and was paralyzed below the chest from shrapnel in his spine. Cruelly, that tragic day also marked his 21st birthday. Jerral is a single father of two young children.

The Carrington Companies were honored to have the opportunity to donate the project management services through the Carrington Development Company with the fundraising efforts of CCF in order to support of The Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program to build this home. Jerral can now live comfortably in a custom home built for his unique needs and with his independence restored.

Coming home from Iraq missing one arm, with another that barely worked and a paralyzed body that was burned all over, Jerral was a hero to home town in California. He shares, “I don’t like to complain. I know nothing will ever be the same, but I can find my new normal.”
