Hero Mark Litynski & Wife Heather Move into Custom Home

Wounded Veteran Mark Litynski and his wife, Heather, were welcomed for the first time to their custom Smart Home in Minnesota. During this USMC Corporal’s second deployment in Afghanistan, Mark volunteered to be the point man on a foot patrol, where he stepped on an improvised explosive device (IED). He suffered a bilateral above knee amputation and amputation of his left forearm. This new house is equipped with cutting edge technology and features that will enable Mark and Heather to live comfortably in a home built to make daily life easier.

The Carrington Companies and Carrington Charitable Foundation were honored to donate the project management services of the Carrington Development Company and fundraising efforts of the foundation to make this home a reality. All of the support and donations made helped to support the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program to help make this home build a success.

Two months after his injury, Mark was up and walking on his first set of prosthetics. He continues to be an inspiration to many with his positive attitude and fast-paced healing. Mark does not for a moment regret this decision to serve his county. He shares, “to make a difference, not just for the United States and our citizens, but over there—we were making a difference for the people of Afghanistan. I wouldn’t change it for anything.”
