Welcome Home Dunagan Family

Rusty Dunagan always knew he would join the military, but after the September 11th, 2001 attacks his conviction grew stronger and he joined the Army in 2006. On September 22nd, 2010, during his second overseas tour, Rusty was on patrol in Afghanistan when he encountered an IED, causing him to lose both legs and his left arm. Since that day, he has overcome serious infections and endured over thirty surgeries.

Rusty, his wife, Angie, and their children will now live comfortably in a custom home built to make daily life easier. The Carrington Companies and Carrington Charitable Foundation were honored to donate the project management services of the Carrington Development Company and fundraising efforts of the foundation to make this home a reality. All of the support and donations made helped to support the Gary Sinise Foundation’s R.I.S.E. program to help make this home build a success.

Rusty’s wife, Angie, gave birth to their baby daughter a few months before he was deployed. Despite his adversity, Rusty maintains a positive attitude. He says, “I know this will be a challenge but I plan on getting some prosthetic legs, get to walking, and get back to my family.”
