2015 Orange County Stand Down

February 03, 2014

In keeping with the Carrington’s dedication to supporting our country’s veterans and military heroes, 22 Carrington associates graciously participated in the 5th Annual Orange County Stand Down and Veterans Resource Expo last October, from the 22nd to the 25th, in Tustin.

O.C. Stand Down’s mission is to help homeless, displaced, disabled or transitioning veterans who are integrating into the community, giving them the resources they require to increase their quality of life and find their way back from service. Created in 2010 to mimic the look of a military base camp, the four-day event has grown into a massive initiative offering veterans and their families the opportunity to connect with numerous non-profit organizations, community outreach centers and government agencies.

Over the course of O.C. Stand Down’s four-day experience last fall, 2619 people participated to help 559 veterans. Twenty-two of our Carrington associates stepped up to volunteer over 80 hours across those four days, acting as table ambassadors, manning the information booth, helping with safety and security, assisting with event check-ins and operating as peer navigators. We are so proud of our fellow Carrington associates who offered their time and support to this worthy cause. May we continue to help our servicemen and women create a wonderful life that is worthy of all their hard work and dedication to protecting our country.
