2016 Was a Great Year of Giving
As 2016 comes to an end, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of our Carrington Associates for making 2016 such an incredible year for charitable giving and volunteering. Although we’ve seen a positive increase year after year, 2016 was far and above the best year yet. As a reminder, here are some of the year’s more memorable moments:
Animal Rescue Organizations Receive CCF Grants. In August, CCF asked Associates to nominate their favorite animal rescues and shelters for a grant. CCF made donations to an impressive list of organizations that help animals. Read the story here.
Westfield Associates Hit Home Run for Autism. July saw our Westfield Associates volunteering for the Autism Speaks Baseball Clinic, sponsored by the Indianapolis Indians. Inspired by Autism Awareness Month in April, the office banded together to play ball with autistic children. Read the story here.
Boxes for Troops and Some Personal Stories: July was also Military Awareness Month, which meant Associates created Boxes for our Troops. All Associates, including current and former military, sent a record number of care packages to those in service. Read the story here.
Special Olympics: Our Associates in Action: June marked our charitable focus of the Special Olympics. Southern California and Connecticut Associates shared their stories of volunteering at the Special Olympics, but for one Associate, Loreto Fuentes, the occasion was a personal triumph for her daughter, who participated in the games. Read those stories here and here.
Carrington Associates Participated in Wear Red Day for Heart Disease Awareness: Heart Disease Awareness Month was in February and so many Associates raised awareness and helped those affected by the disease. Some offices even went above and beyond, setting up a selfie station with props. Read the story here.
Carrington Associates make MLK Day a Day On ... Not a Day Off: Instead of taking the day off on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, many of our Associates took the initiative to volunteer instead. Southern California Carrington Associates, Brittany Barnes and Stefan Tran, organized a volunteer day at the Palos Verdes Land Conservancy White Point Preserve in Long Beach, California. And now we turn our attention to 2017. As always, we want to hear from you. Tell us your ideas for monthly charitable initiatives, let us know if there’s an organization we should be supporting and share more about your volunteer experiences this year – and how we can do even better next year. Because that’s exactly what we want to do! Let’s work together to beat our tremendous year of giving in 2016, and make 2017 a truly spectacular year of heartfelt volunteering, sharing and caring in our communities!
