2nd Quarter Grants

As a CCF supporter, your generosity helps make grants like these possible. CCF strives to identify needs in the communities in which we live and work and maximize contributions to help others. Here are the grants that were made from April, May and June (Q2) of 2014:

•A $5,000 grant was made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and their efforts to cure the life-threatening disease of Cystic Fibrosis. Carrington Associates Andrew Taffet and Kiki Couch have personal connections to the cause and participated in the Great Strides Walk, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's largest national fundraising event.
•A $5,000 grant was made to the Children’s Bureau (CB), an organization that strives to improve the overall health and well-being of our nation’s children and families through federal, state, tribal and local agencies.
•A $5,000 grant was made to the American Congress of Rehabilitation Medicine (ACRM), an organization of rehabilitation professionals dedicated to serving people with disabling conditions by supporting research that promotes health and quality of life. The ACRM contributes to technology and research used in constructing prosthetic limbs for wounded Heroes injured in combat, as well as support programs to assist in their physical and psychological recovery. Carrington Associates are joining the ACRM walk-a-thon to cultivate a healthy lifestyle and support ACRM programs.
•A $3,000 grant was made to the Greenwich Police Department Scholarship fund. This scholarship fund awards college scholarships to academically deserving students who are the children of current Greenwich, Connecticut police officers on the force.
•Through the efforts of CCF’s Trainers for a Cause, CCF matched funds raised by teams to help charitable programs. CCF’s Orange County Marathon Trainers directed funds to assist wounded Veterans, and CCF matched their fundraising efforts by donating $2,115 to the Veterans Airlift Command. CCF also matched the effort s of Trainers who participated in the TD Five Boro Bike Tour in New York, donating $1,650 to The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, a nonprofit charity established by Paul Newman that provides healing to children and families battling serious illness.
•CCF sponsored the St. Joseph Fashion Show in Anaheim, California by purchasing a table for $1,200 to benefit the Center for Cancer Prevention and Treatment at St. Joseph Hospital. The event featured courageous St. Joseph Hospital cancer patients and survivors as fashion show models, inspiring others to live life to the fullest.
•A $1,600 donation was made to the Unit Scholarship Fund, an organization that honors fallen Special Operations Soldiers by awarding merit based post-secondary educational memorial scholarships to the daughters, sons and spouses of America’s most elite Fighting Force.
•A $750 donation was made to the LA FireHogs, an organization that participates in charitable causes to promote a brotherhood amongst firefighters.
•A $500 donation was made to the Lighthouse Group, a non-profit organization that serves adults with special needs all over Orange County, California.
