8th Annual Belle of the Ball
The 8th Annual Belle of the Ball served over 300 deserving teens throughout Orange County in March, providing young ladies with a prom dress, shoes, jewelry, hand bag, and professional make-up services. The event also provided workshops to help enhance self-esteem and body image.
Carrington Associates generously donated dresses, shoes and other formal accessories to help make prom day special for at-risk teens. Thank you to everyone who donated items in our Carrington offices and to our volunteers who assisted at the event! You helped make the day memorable for deserving youth and helped contribute to self-esteem programs for girls.
The young ladies began the day with an inspirational message from Vicky Vargas of the Channel 4 News in Orange County, female pilot Jaynine Warner, and Councilwoman of Santa Ana, Michele Martinez. In addition to dressing up in full prom and formal attire, the ladies also attended a body image workshop and etiquette class taught by the Etiquette School of Newport Beach.
Belle of the Ball is a yearly collaborative event hosted by Orange Coast College, Orangewood Children’s Foundation, and Girls Incorporated. This organization provides low-income, at-risk teens and foster youth a day of cost-free prom shopping and essential self-empowerment workshops. Since 2008, Belle of the Ball has served over 1,300 at-risk teens throughout all of Orange County! To learn more visit: http://www.belleoftheball.org/.
