Carrington Helps Stamp Out Hunger

April 19, 2017

The time has come once again for us to participate in the 25th annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive! The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive was launched by the National Association of Letter Carriers in 1994, with an aim to collect food to help the outlying community. The food drive takes place on the second Saturday in May, making this year’s date on Saturday, May 13.

The food the letter carriers collect is donated to local food banks and pantries, so it can be distributed to the homeless and jobless, among others who are in need. In the past three years, the initiative has collected more than 200,000 pounds of food.

As part of our May focus of Health and Fitness Awareness Month, we encourage Carrington Associates to donate healthy, nutrient-rich goods that offer an extra boost to those who need it. This is the time of year when food banks start to run low on supplies, so please – give as much as you can..

How can you participate? Just leave your food donations out by your mailbox for the local U.S. Postal Service representative to collect. Make sure you send us photos as well. If leaving donations at your door is inconvenient, you can also make a donation online at givehealthy.org. Let’s work together to help make hunger a thing of the past!
