CCF Delivers Gifts and Hope to Hurricane Sandy Victims

Carrington Charitable Foundation’s “Adopt-a-Family” holiday event in Greenwich, Connecticut made an immediate and direct impact on victims of the recent Hurricane Sandy disaster in Breezy Point, New York.

With the intention of bringing joy, hope and inspiration to a family that has lost their home and possessions as a result of the hurricane, the Greenwich office donated, wrapped and personally delivered gifts from the family’s wish list to open on Christmas morning.

The family adopted by Greenwich has five members; Mom, Dad, Jordyn (age 14), Julia (age 3), and Jacqueline (3 weeks old), and lost everything they owned in a fire that broke out after the hurricane. They are now living in a small apartment in Brooklyn, New York, displaced from their community due to the destruction from the storm and massive ocean surge.

This deserving family is no stranger to giving back to the community and helping those in need. The father is a New York City Firefighter that was on duty most of the week of the storm, and rescued nine people, multiple dogs, and a parrot from five feet of floodwaters.
