CCF Launches Boxes for Troops to Help Our Military Overseas

Carrington's Windsor, Connecticut location collected 18 total boxes (original goal was 5 boxes) and is getting ready to ship out their items overseas. Thank to you everyone who donated generously in this location!

There's still time to donate! Running through July 31st, CCF will be collecting items in our Carrington offices to pack in boxes and ship overseas to our service members. Donations will be distributed by the “Any Soldier” organization, a family run charity that supports all branches of the military. To date they have helped over 2 million troops, ensuring that all items donated are shared with “any soldier” – giving each service member a reminder of home and the thought that someone cares for their well-being. Here is a list of items needed:

  • Travel sized toiletries
    • Soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, deodorant, razors etc.
    • Baby Powder
    • Baby Wipes
    • Tissue packs
    • Hand Sanitizer
    • Lip balm
  • Non-perishable food items
    • Snacks – chips, pretzels, popcorn, crackers, etc.
    • Candy (NO CHOCOLATE)
    • Gum
    • Mints
  • Small toys to give to children – stuffed animals, balls, etc.
  • Soccer Balls, Footballs, Baseballs, Tennis Balls, Nerf balls
  • A greeting card with a note to show your support

July is Military Awareness Month and Carrington Charitable Foundation is showing its patriotism and appreciation by helping our service members through Boxes for Troops. Millions of men and women serving overseas never receive any mail, and have to cope with the harsh conditions of service without signs of support from family and friends back home. You can help our heroes by donating basic supplies and show them the support they need to make their service time easier.

To kick off our event, CCF held a Fundraising Drive starting July 13th and ending July 24th to try and raise as much money as we can to go shopping for items to send to our soldiers. CCF will use the donations collected online to purchase items and fill more boxes. Please use form below to donate.

All who donate to Boxes for our Troops with either a monetary or in-kind donation through CCF will receive a special prize at the end of the month. Please make sure that you send an email to ccf@carringtonmh.com if you contribute in-kind item donations. If you donate funds online, please forward your receipt to claim your prize. No cash or checks will be accepted.

In 2013 CCF shipped over 100 boxes and this year we are looking to break that record! Our goal is to have each participating Carrington location ship at least 5 boxes each. No donation is too small, and any kind of necessity you can donate will help a soldier in need. At the end of the month, CCF will hold a “boxing party” to package and deliver items.
