CCF Spreads Holiday Cheer to Children & Families in Need

February 03, 2014

Throughout November and December, Carrington Charitable Foundation brought joy to the community through charitable causes around the country. Associates generously donated toys, clothes and more to children and families to make the season bright for those in need this holiday season. CCF would like to thank everyone who donated and wishes everyone a safe and happy holiday!

Toys for Tots

In Santa Ana, Oceanside, Aliso Viejo, Irvine, Fishers, Plano, Greenwich, Enfield & various Mortgage Lending branch locations, Carrington Associates collected bins full of new, unwrapped toys to distribute as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community through the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program. The primary goal of Toys for Tots is to deliver a message of hope to less fortunate children that will assist them in becoming responsible, productive, patriotic citizens. Each year, this program unites local communities in a common cause to create better communities in the future. To read more, visit www.toysfortots.org.

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)

In Santa Ana, California Associates selected gift wishes of 200 children from Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), a non-profit organization that serves severely abused, neglected and abandoned children through the recruitment, training and continued support from volunteer mentors and advocates. Each year CASA holds a Holiday Party for over 550 foster children, in which they partake in festive activities, including taking pictures with Santa and opening gifts from their wish list. CCF sent volunteers to help wrap gifts for the holiday party and bring smiles to these deserving children’s faces. To read more, visit www.casaoc.org.

Orangewood Children’s Foundation

In Aliso Viejo & Irvine, California, Associates selected gift wishes of 50 children from the Orangewood Children's Foundation. Orangewood began over 30 years ago with a vision to build a facility to shelter Orange County children who were the victims of abuse, neglect and abandonment. After its construction, the operations and administration of the Orangewood Children's Home were turned over to the county's Social Services Agency. Today they focus on the ongoing needs of children in the foster care system, developing a wide range of activities, scholarships, support and programs to give every child every chance to succeed. Adopt-A-Family

In Santa Ana, Aliso Viejo and Irvine, California, Associates adopted families in need to give them a special holiday through Families Forward, Mercy House, The Salvation Army and The Women’s Shelter of Long Beach organizations. Associates donated toys, clothing, food and other items to assist individuals in crisis and provide support they need for the holidays.
