Next Month: Special Olympics Volunteering Month

May 09, 2017

Get ready to share some fun, laughter and Carrington team spirit at this year’s Special Olympics Summer Games with our very own CCF on June 10-11 at California State University, Long Beach. Special Olympics is the world's largest sports organization for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, providing year-round training and competitions to more than 4.4 million athletes in 170 countries.

CCF is a proud sponsor of this unforgettable event, and many Southern California Carrington Associates will be supporting more than 1,100 Special Olympic athletes striving for the coveted gold, silver and bronze awards. The games have it all, including swimming, track and field, basketball, golfing, gymnastics and even bocce.

“CCF is very proud to sponsor such an important event,” said Shelly Lawrence, CCF Executive Director of Community Relations. “Being part of the Special Olympics is both inspiring and heartwarming. It is one of our favorite events, and is truly a great experience.”

We’d love for you to join us for this memorable weekend, whether you volunteer for a sport or cheer on the sidelines. Just watching these amazing athletes inspires greatness and compassion in everyone who attends. For instructions on how to register, click here.

If you’d like to volunteer for sports shifts, please follow the registration instructions here to create your unique volunteer account where you can register, cancel and manage your assignments. Please do not register for festival shifts. But you better hurry because registration ends May 24, and spots are limited!

Want to cheerlead? Join the Fans in the Stands: volunteers who don’t need to register online. Fans in the Stands visit the fan zone to pick up cheer signs, and then head to the venue of their choice to hoot and holler for their favorite teams and athletes.
