Join or support Carrington Associate Andrew Taffet for the “Team Carrington” Great Strides Walk supporting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation on May 17th at the Lyndhurst Estate in Tarrytown, New York! An estimated 30,000 children and adults in the United States have Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a life-threatening genetic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. Each step brings us closer to a world free of CF, and your participation can help the mission to find a cure.

The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure Cystic Fibrosis and provide all people with the disease the opportunity to lead full, productive lives by funding research and drug development, promoting individualized treatment, and ensuring access to high-quality, specialized care.

According to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, in people with CF, a defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections. The condition also obstructs the pancreas to stop natural enzymes from helping the body break down food and absorb vital nutrients. About 1,000 new cases are diagnosed each year and more than 75% of those with CF are diagnosed by age 2.
