The CCF Ambassadors

During the past couple of months we’ve introduced you to some special people behind the scenes who help make CCF such a success. Now, we’d like to introduce you to some people on the frontlines that spread the CCF word to the public: our CCF Ambassadors.

Our first Ambassador is U.S. Army Master Sergeant John Masson, who has been with CCF since the 2011 Golf Classic, where he was an honored speaker. He has a close bond with CCF, built on mutual respect and a joint belief in supporting our Veterans. Not only is he a passionate advocate for CCF and its mission, he continues to bravely share his story to help the public understand what wounded Veterans face when they return home from combat. We are constantly in awe of his dedication and are honored to have him on our team.

Our next Ambassador is U.S. Army Sergeant First Class Michael Schlitz, who has also been with us – and been active with CCF – since the inaugural Golf Classic. Like us, Michael has dedicated his life to giving back to the Veteran and Ranger communities. He discovered this newfound purpose after medically retiring from the U.S. Army after 14 years of service. Since then, he’s returned to Iraq three times to mentor wounded and non-wounded Vets, in addition to supporting CCF’s initiatives. It’s this enthusiasm that helps make CCF what it is today.

And then there’s our third ambassador, Walt Fricke, the Chairman, CEO and founder of the Veterans Airlift Command (VAC). As many of you know, the VAC provides air transportation via a network of volunteer pilots, but what you may not know is that Walt started the service after serving in the Vietnam War. He sees it as his way of paying back the debt we owe to our nation’s heroes – and we owe him for helping Carrington to understand the plight of our Veterans and their families. It’s this shared understanding and passionate service that continually creates change for this underserved sector of our community.
With the help of our Ambassadors, CCF continues to spread the message of the special care, attention and support our nation’s Veterans not only need, but deserve. We are able to reach people in ways we’d never imagined. Thank you to our Ambassadors. We appreciate all of their hard work!
