Trainers for a Cause Raise Over $4,000 for VAC & Carrington House
Complete with comfortable weather, new training t-shirts and passion for a worthy cause, CCF’s trainers crossed the finish lines of the OC Half Marathon and Wahoo’s 5K on May 5th in Orange County, California. After CCF matched registration fees for all Carrington participants, the team raised a total of over $4,000, which will be directed to assist wounded veterans and their families through the work of the Veterans Airlift Command and Carrington House.
For the past few months, Carrington Associates have been training and prepping for the half marathon and 5K event, fundraising for two causes CCF is proud to support: the VAC and Carrington House. The VAC is an organization that provides free private air transportation to wounded veterans of Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan) through a network of aircraft owners and pilots. Carrington House provides temporary and permanent housing for wounded veterans, reuniting them with their families during their rehabilitation phases to help them transition back into society. CCF’s Trainers have shared the message of the VAC and Carrington House and have helped raise funds and awareness that will truly make an impact on these causes.
On the day of the events, CCF’s runners were met with cheers and supporters who helped encourage them through the race and across the finish line. CCF also stationed a pop-up tent in “Charity Village,” turning the heads of runners and race attendees who stopped by to learn more about our Foundation and our work with wounded Veterans.
Congratulations to our team members who completed the 5K and half marathon and raised funds for VAC/CH!
